The game
What is Candy Swipe Matchwin?
Candy Swipe Matchwin is a candy-themed slot from Coreffect Interactive, released at Stake on . Instead of spinning reels and waiting, you swap two neighbouring candies on a 7×7 board to line up three or more of the same colour. Every swap is one paid play at your current bet. Stake calls this the MatchWin swipe-to-match mechanic, and it's exclusive to the casino.
If you've played Candy Crush, the board will feel familiar. Matched candies pop, new ones fall in from the top, and every chain after the first adds to your payout. Some candies carry multipliers, rockets clear lines, bombs blow up a 3×3 square, and a rare shuffle symbol refills the whole board.
The base game is set in Candy Park, an amusement park with a Ferris wheel, a roller coaster and a carousel. A cheerful candy-maker in a purple top hat stands to the left of the board. The Ice Bonus moves the action into his candy factory.
Coreffect Interactive is an independent studio from Montreal, founded in 2020. It made strategy games for Steam before it started building physics-based casino games for Stake in 2025. Going by its catalogue, this is its first match-3 game.
Candy Swipe Matchwin on mobile
The game is built in HTML5 and JavaScript, so it runs in mobile browsers on iOS and Android as well as on desktop. There's no app to download. Swiping candies with your thumb is arguably the most natural way to play it.
Step by step
How to play Candy Swipe Matchwin
-
Open the game
Find Candy Swipe Matchwin in Stake's Only on Stake or New Releases section. Start in Fun Play to learn it with virtual credits.
-
Set your bet
Use the − and + buttons to choose a bet between 0.01 and 500. Each swap you make is charged at this amount.
-
Decide on Extra Luck
The Extra Luck mode doubles the cost of each play and makes the Ice Bonus 2.5 times as likely. Leave it off to keep costs down.
-
Swipe to match
Swipe a candy towards one of its four neighbours. The game only accepts swaps that line up three or more of a colour, or that move a rocket or a bomb.
-
Watch the steps
Everything lined up breaks at once, candies fall, and new ones drop in. If that makes new lines, another step follows, until nothing more breaks.
-
Fill the Magic Meter
Each Magic Candy you break fills one of three slots. The meter carries over between plays, and a full meter starts the Ice Bonus for free.
Symbols
Symbols and paytable
All six candy colours are worth the same. What pays is the number of chains you earn in one play. The game counts one chain for every three candies broken in the same step. The first chain of each play is free, and every chain after it pays 0.05x your bet.
| Symbol | Value |
|---|---|
| Red jelly beans | All the same: every 3 broken in one step make a chain worth 0.05x the bet |
| Orange drops | |
| Yellow lemon slices | |
| Green jellies | |
| Blue candies | |
| Purple stars |
Special candies don't have a cash value of their own. They change the board, the multiplier or the Magic Meter, and every one that breaks also counts towards its step's chains.
| Symbol | What it does |
|---|---|
| Multiplier candies | Wrapped candies marked ×2 to ×10. Their value is added to the play's multiplier |
| Magic Candies | Glowing candies that fill one Magic Meter slot, or add a move in the bonus |
| Rockets | Break every candy in their path to the edge of the board |
| Bombs | Break the 3×3 square around them |
| Shuffle symbol | Replaces every candy on the board and ends the play |
| Ice blocks | Bonus only. Each hides a multiplier for the round |
Ignore the 0.5x figure. Stake's game page lists 0.5x per chain, but the rules inside the game say 0.05x, and its own worked example agrees. We use the in-game figure throughout this site.
MatchWin
Steps, chains and multipliers
There are no paylines. A play happens in steps: everything lined up breaks at the same moment, candies above fall into the gaps and new ones drop in. If that lines up something new, another step follows. The play ends when nothing more breaks.
What makes a line
| Shape | What breaks |
|---|---|
| 3 in a line | Those three candies |
| 4 in a line | The whole row, or the whole column if the line is vertical |
| 5 or more in a line | Every candy of that colour on the board |
| L, T or + shape | The whole rectangle the two lines cover |
How chains are counted
Every three candies broken in the same step earn one chain. Each step is counted on its own before anything falls, so a step that breaks 8 candies earns 2 chains, and the 2 left over don't carry into the next step. At the end of the play, the chains from all steps are added up.
| Chains in the play | Win |
|---|---|
| 1 | Nothing |
| 2 | 0.05x |
| 3 | 0.10x |
| 5 | 0.20x |
| 10 | 0.45x |
| 21 | 1.00x |
Multiplier candies
Every multiplier candy that breaks during a play, in any step, adds its value to that play's multiplier: a ×2 and a ×5 make ×7. The multiplier applies to all of the play's chains, including chains earned before it broke. The game multiplies the chains first and then takes off the free first chain.
A worked example
The game's own example: four chains with a ×7 multiplier.
- 4 chains × 7 = 28 chains
- 28 − 1 free chain = 27 chains
- 27 × 0.05x = 1.35x your bet
Special symbols
Rockets, bombs and the shuffle symbol
Rockets
A rocket flies the way its arrow points and breaks every candy in its path up to the edge of the board. In the Ice Bonus it stops at the first ice block in its way.
Bombs
A bomb breaks the 3×3 square around it.
How rockets and bombs go off
Lines never break a rocket or a bomb. They light it up instead. A rocket or bomb also lights up when you swap it, or when a candy directly above, below, left or right of it breaks. If you swapped it, it fires in the first step. Otherwise it fires in the next step, after the candies have fallen. It breaks itself along with everything it hits, and it can light up other rockets and bombs.
The shuffle symbol
The shuffle symbol sometimes drops in with new candies. It takes priority over everything else: the play ends the moment it lands, nothing else breaks, and the board is refilled for your next swap. Chains and multipliers from the steps before it still pay as normal.
Bonus round
Magic Meter and the Ice Bonus
Magic Candies glow and match by colour like any other candy. Each one you break fills one of the three slots on the Magic Meter, and the meter carries over from play to play. Fill all three and the Ice Bonus starts, at no extra cost.
- You get 5 free moves on a board with two rows of ice blocks at the bottom.
- Each candy that breaks directly above, below, left or right of an ice block cracks it once. A block breaks after two or three cracks.
- Every block hides a multiplier. Some show theirs early, but it only counts once the block is broken.
- Every Magic Candy you break in the bonus gives you an extra move.
- At the end, the multipliers of all broken blocks are added together and applied to all the chains from the round.
- The bonus win is paid on top of the win from the swap that filled the meter.
Full rules, a step-by-step demo run and a cost calculator are in the Ice Bonus guide.
Optional extras
Extra Luck and bonus buys
The game has four optional modes, priced as a multiple of your bet. Extra Luck is the ante: it costs 2x per play and makes the Ice Bonus 2.5 times as likely. The other three are buy features.
| Mode | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Extra Luck | 2x per play | 2.5 times the chance of the Ice Bonus |
| Enhanced Moves | 50x per move | A multiplier break every move, plus more bombs and rockets |
| Ice Bonus | 100x per round | 5 free moves on the ice board. Your board and meter are kept |
| Multi Mayhem | 1,000x per move | Half the board turns into multiplier candies, and they keep coming with every refill |
Buys don't pay back more. The game's RTP table gives 96.60% for Enhanced Moves and the Ice Bonus buy, and 96.40% for Multi Mayhem. That's the same as or lower than the base game's 96.60–96.70%. At a 1.00 bet, one Multi Mayhem move costs 1,000.
The maths
RTP, volatility and max win
RTP: 96.40% to 96.70%
The game's own RTP table lists a figure for each mode. The base game and Extra Luck return 96.60–96.70%, the Ice Bonus and Enhanced Moves buys 96.60%, and Multi Mayhem 96.40%. That's a little above the roughly 96% many online slots offer. RTP is a long-run average over a huge number of plays, not a promise for your session.
Volatility: high
Stake rates the game as high volatility: wins come less often but can be much bigger. The first chain of every play is free and each chain is only worth 0.05x, so most of the value sits in long chains, stacked multipliers and the Ice Bonus. Neither Stake nor Coreffect publishes a hit frequency.
Max win: 49,999.95x
The top payout is 49,999.95x your bet, which only the Multi Mayhem mode can reach. In the base game the cap is 49,519.50x. At the 500 maximum bet, 49,999.95x is 24,999,975 in your currency. Treat it as a ceiling, not a target.
Every mode's figures and what they mean are in our RTP and max win guide.

Straight talk
Myths and facts
- A clever swipe can beat the game.
- You choose the swap, but the candies that fall in are random, and the RTP is fixed for each mode. The game's legal notice says wins are settled by the remote game server, not by what happens in your browser. Play the board for fun, not as a system.
- A nearly full Magic Meter means the bonus is due.
- The meter does carry over from play to play, but the rules call it "a visual artifact". Treat it as a display of progress, not as a sign that the bonus is about to land.
- Buying the bonus improves your odds.
- The game's RTP table says otherwise: buys return 96.40–96.60%, no more than the base game's 96.60–96.70%. A buy skips the wait, it doesn't add value.

Bottom line
Our verdict: is Candy Swipe Matchwin worth playing?
Our score: 7.8/10
Candy Swipe Matchwin is the most hands-on game in Coreffect's catalogue. The swap-and-chain idea gives every play a puzzle feel, and cracking the ice rows in the bonus is genuinely satisfying. The in-game rules are unusually thorough, and the maths is solid: up to 96.70% RTP and a 49,999.95x cap.
It loses points for availability and for how little each chain pays. You can only play it at Stake, the first chain of every play is free, and a chain is worth just 0.05x. Try the Fun Play demo first, and keep buys for a budget you've set aside for them.

How we checked the numbers
On , two days after release, we played Candy Swipe Matchwin in Stake's Fun Play demo and read every tab of the in-game rules: How to play, Symbols, RTP and Info. We bought the Ice Bonus and activated Multi Mayhem with virtual credits to see them in action. All screenshots on this site come from that session.
We also checked Stake's game page, SlotCatalog's listings for the game and the studio, and Coreffect Interactive's own website. Where they disagree, we go with the in-game rules:
- Pay per chain
- Stake's game page says 0.5x. The game says 0.05x.
- RTP
- Stake's page shows 96.60% and 96.70%. The game lists 96.60–96.70% for the base game and Extra Luck, and lower figures for some buys.
- Max win
- 49,999.95x overall, but only in Multi Mayhem. Other modes have lower caps.
- The studio
- SlotCatalog says Coreffect was founded in 2025. Coreffect's own site says 2020, with casino games since 2025.
