Bonus round
Candy Swipe Matchwin Ice Bonus and Bonus Buy Guide
Three Magic Candies start the Ice Bonus: five free moves, two rows of ice and a hidden multiplier in every block. Here's how it works and pays, how one of our test rounds went, and what Extra Luck and the three buy features cost.
How the Magic Meter fills
Magic Candies are glowing versions of the regular candies, and they match by colour like any other. You don't need a special move to collect them. Just include them in a line.
- Every Magic Candy you break fills one of the meter's three slots.
- The meter carries over from play to play.
- When all three slots are full, the Ice Bonus starts for free.
- The bonus win is paid on top of the win from the swap that filled the meter.
Good to know: the rules call the meter "a visual artifact". It shows your progress, but it isn't a sign that the bonus is about to land.
How the Ice Bonus works
The bonus moves you into the candy-maker's factory and gives you 5 free moves on a board with two rows of ice blocks along the bottom. The aim is to break as much ice as you can, because each block holds a multiplier.
Cracking the ice
Every candy that breaks directly above, below, left or right of an ice block cracks it once. A block breaks after two or three cracks. Diagonal neighbours don't count.
Hidden multipliers
Each ice block holds a multiplier. Some show theirs while the ice is still cracked, others stay hidden until it's gone. A multiplier only counts once its block is broken.
Extra moves
Every Magic Candy you break during the bonus gives you one more move, so the round can last well beyond five moves.
Rockets in the bonus
Instead of flying to the edge of the board, a rocket stops at the first ice block in its path.
How the Ice Bonus pays
Chains are counted step by step exactly as in a normal play, and added up over all the moves of the round. Then:
- The multipliers of every ice block you broke are added together.
- That total multiplies the round's chains.
- The first chain is taken off.
- Every remaining chain pays 0.05x your bet.
If you don't break a single block, the chains count as they are, with no multiplier.
One of our test rounds
We bought the Ice Bonus in Fun Play at a 1.00 bet, which cost 100 in virtual credits. Over the five moves we broke the upper row of ice. The revealed multipliers added up to 125x, and the round paid 199.95, about twice its price.
The win fits the rules exactly. It works out at 32 chains: 32 × 125 = 4,000, minus the free first chain is 3,999, and 3,999 × 0.05 = 199.95.
One round proves nothing. This was a single round played with virtual credits. The Ice Bonus buy returns 96.60% over the long run, so many rounds pay less than their 100x price.
What the rules mean for your moves
Which candies fall in is random. Still, the rules point to a few things worth knowing when you choose a swap:
- Only breaks right next to the ice crack it, so lines along the top of the ice rows do the work.
- Four in a line breaks a whole row or column, and five or more breaks every candy of that colour, which can crack several blocks at once.
- A rocket stops at the first ice block it meets, so it cracks one block rather than clearing a column.
- Magic Candies are worth including in a line, because each one adds a move.
None of this changes the RTP. It just helps you understand what's happening on the board.
Extra Luck: the ante bet
Extra Luck is an optional mode that costs 2x your bet per play. In return, the rules say the Ice Bonus becomes 2.5 times as likely to trigger. Its RTP is the same as the base game's, 96.60–96.70%, with a slightly higher max win of 49,965.80x.
At a 1.00 bet, 100 plays with Extra Luck cost 200 instead of 100. Turn it on only if that higher cost per play fits your budget.
The three buy features
If you'd rather not wait for the meter, you can buy your way in from the Unlock Bonus menu. All prices are multiples of your current bet.

Ice Bonus questions
How many Magic Candies do I need?
Three. Each one fills one slot of the Magic Meter.
Does the Magic Meter reset?
Not between plays. The rules say it carries over from play to play.
How many moves does the Ice Bonus give?
Five to start with, plus one for every Magic Candy you break during the bonus.
What's the highest multiplier in an ice block?
The game doesn't publish the range. In our demo round, single blocks showed values such as 19x, 21x, 25x and 32x, and the intro screen shows examples up to 100x.
